|
Welcome to our Web Site The Quebec Society for Wetland Conservation (QSWC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect the biodiversity of Quebec’s wetlands for the benefit of present and future generations. The main activities of the QSWC consist of fostering public awareness and reaching conservation agreements for the safeguarding of significant marshes, swamps and peatlands in Quebec. For that purpose, the QSWC has protected to date 571 hectares (5.71 km2) of natural habitats and set up a patrimonial network of 11 protected areas for the preservation of the habitat of 29 species of flora and fauna at risk. With these achievements, the QSWC has become one of the most important conservation leaders in Quebec and Canada as well.
